Mountain Equipment Makalu Jacket – GORE-TEX Hiking Shell

The Mountain Equipment Makalu Jacket is a durable waterproof shell for year-round hiking and mountaineering. Its three-layer GORE-TEX ePE construction combines 50D fabric with 75D reinforcement in high-wear areas to balance protection, weight and durability.

A fully adjustable, helmet-compatible hood and water-resistant YKK AquaGuard main zips provide coverage in poor weather. Two-way pit zips release heat quickly, while hand and chest pockets keep essentials accessible.

The Alpine Fit includes articulated, pre-shaped sleeves for movement. Adjustable laminated cuffs and dual tether hem drawcords secure the jacket around your layers. Renew the fluorocarbon-free DWR treatment as needed to maintain surface beading; the membrane's waterproof function is separate from that surface effect.
